Here at The Bike Side, we have three levels of servicing for you and all prices are inclusive of collection & delivery. Whether we collect the bike or not, we start with a FREE safety inspection! We go over the entire bike and advise you how much or how little work/parts are required. You then get to decide how much you want to spend. If at this point you decide not to proceed with any work, that's fine we won't charge you anything at all (if we have collected the bike, we will still drop it back, with no charge).

The Standard £50 (excluding parts)
​
We clean the bike first and carry out a thorough visual inspection, checking for any worn/damaged parts and signs of stress in the frame. The brakes and gears are checked for alignment and any cables or brakes pads replaced as necessary. Every nut and bolt is checked for tightness, tyre pressures are checked and the seat post greased.
​
The bike is then test ridden making sure it's perfect and ready to be returned to you.
​
We recommend this service to be carried out every12-18 months for the recreational rider and every 6-9 months for the hardened/daily rider!

The Dirty Bertie £75 (excluding parts)
​
This service is for bikes that require a Standard service but are also suffering from very dirty and greasy parts! We remove the entire drive chain system and thoroughly clean them in our eco friendly parts washer, giving them longer happier life!
The Holy Grail £130 (excluding parts)
​
A complete overhaul of your bike. With this service we do everything as per the standard service....but then go the extra mile!! The drive chain (chain and cogs) is removed and cleaned with eco friendly de-greasers and the bike stripped down to allow a deep clean of all areas. Brake surfaces are cleaned and inspected for wear, hubs, bottom bracket and headset stripped down and checked for signs of wear and re greased where possible (lots of these parts have sealed bearings these days and they are designed to simply be replaced when worn). Pivots and bushes on full suspension bikes are removed and cleaned and any parts are replaced as necessary.
Once the bike is lovingly put back together, it is then test ridden and polished before handing it back.

We recommend this service to be carried out every 12-18 months for those riding daily/week in week out.....or for those who quite literally cannot remember when their bike was last serviced!!

Buying a new bicycle online is becoming more and more popular these days, we all have budgets to keep to after all! But beware!! Bikes that are not assembled by a qualified cycle mechanic will NOT carry the full manufacturers warranty.
We offer a full build and PDI service that will make sure you get the most from your new bike and make sure you can benefit from the cover of warranties.

ABOUT US
The Bike Side is a family run business, with a passion for not just bikes, but customer service too! Tom the director and chief mechanic has been working with bikes for over 20 years and is a Cytech approved qualified technician.
​
Supporting Tom Monday - Friday is Aandy (the man with the marvellous Moustache and Samantha (the friendliest face of the company with organisational skills to die for). Plus our great weekend staff: George (An advanced junior mechanic and fearless rider) and Raff (The youngest of the team with wild hair and an unrivalled enthusiasum for all thing MTB) . As well as the team Tom's awesome wife Emma and their two kids Dids & Harry, lend a hand and keep the cogs turning. Whilst Dids is more of a horse rider like mummy, Harry is definitely following in his fathers footsteps as a super keen mountain biker!

As a team, they are really excited to bring this new venture to the people of Sussex. Tom has been serving an established client base from home for a while now and has worked for and managed a number of Cycle shops over the years and has experience of working on all types of bikes, from unicycles (yes, we can all ride one) to tricycles, mountain bikes to triathlon time trial bikes, from road bikes to recumbents and of course kids, family and electric bikes as well.
